About Me

I am a student at AOD, I’m doing second year in a B.A (hons) Graphic Design program from University of Northumbria School Of Design, Newcastle at AOD.

The drive to be the best makes me work harder than the most and keeps me busy. My designs have character and are aesthetically pleasing.

I’m from Maldives, a small country nation in the middle of the Indian Ocean. I grew up in the most isolated island in Maldives, Fuvahmulah. It is a place where natural beauty is everywhere (where people has not yet destroyed of course). Fuvahmulah has produced a lot of creative people in the past and in recent times.

I had lots of influences growing up. My grandfather was a notable craftsman. My father has a fare share of being creative too, he pushes ideas where it hasn’t been pushed before, encouraging new ways of thinking in his line of work. My brother, a master at traditional art, painting, pencil art, etc, and a creative thinker. So art and creativity is in my blood.

How I transitioned from art to design? In 2006 (I think, maybe ‘05 or ‘07) my mom signed me up for a Photoshop class right next door from my house. Back then I didn’t know what photoshop was. I learned basics of using photoshop from that class, it ran for a month and had a class once a week, so about 3 or 4 classes. After that I slowly started designing. Oh and before and after this I used Corel Draw too, was really good at it. And Flash (back then Macromedia Flash) too. All self taught.

Since than I did web design mostly. My clients were myself and close friends and family. I learned web programing along the way and created some thaana news websites both front end design as well as back end.
